On February 5, 2013, at the residence of Oksaroy the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received credentials from newly-appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary - Nicolas Bruel of the Swiss Confederation, Muhammad Nur Osman Yusuf Balkar of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Muhammad Sadek Daudzai of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Guseyn Kuliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
President of Uzbekistan warmly greeted newly-appointed heads of diplomatic corps and congratulated with the honorable and responsible mission in Uzbekistan, and wished success in further developing bilateral relations.
Uzbek-Swiss dialog traditionally carries constructive and mutually beneficial character. Both sides are interested in progressive development of cooperation, most of all in trade-economic and investment spheres.
At the moment, 82 companies jointly with Swiss capital are functioning in Uzbekistan. Business circles of both countries manifest an interest in realization of joint high-technological projects in various branches of economy.
Nicolas Bruel noted there are significant opportunities to extent bilateral interactions, and expressed readiness to perform all the best efforts for that.
Uzbekistan and Jordan jointly accumulated positive experience of cooperation in various spheres, first of all within a framework of versatile structures, such as UN, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international organizations.
During the talks, sides expressed an interest in activation of bilateral contacts in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Jordan Ambassador emphasized that government of Kingdom pays a rapt attention to expand relations with Uzbekistan which confidently demonstrates stable dynamics of development that opens new opportunities to improve relations in various areas in spite of unfavorable consequences of world financial-economic crisis.
It was noted at the meeting with Ambassador of Afghanistan that historical ties of friendship between our countries and nations, centuries-old traditions of neighborliness and mutual aid are the reliable basis for strengthening contemporary Uzbek-Afghan dialog in all sphere of mutual interest.
Uzbekistan always played and will play important role in social - economic renewal of Afghanistan. With direct participation of Uzbekistan railroad Hayraton - Mazari Sharif was constructed and exploited, other infrastructure projects were realized. Electro energy is delivered stably both to the northern regions of Afghanistan and Kabul.
Muhammad Daudzai noted that assistance of Uzbekistan in renewal of Afghan economy is highly appreciated in his country, and Afghanistan emphasizes deepening of mutually beneficial relations with the Uzbek side without of which it is difficult today to imagine constructive and reasonable solution of regional problems.
During the talks with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan it was noted that Uzbek-Azerbaijan relations are dynamically and successfully developing practically in all directions. Regular high-level meetings allow openly to discuss urgent issues both of bilateral and international agenda.
Visit of President of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan in October 2012 attached new impulse in extending cooperation in trade-economic, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Guseyn Kuliev stated that his main task as Ambassador first of all is to preserve and multiply accumulated experience of mutually beneficial relations, realize new joint projects and agreements that respond to interests of both countries and nations.
