On January 30, 2013, Ministry of Foreign affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held meeting with Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Finland Tula Iryola.
Sides discussed urgent aspects of bilateral relations, including idea of sides on developing interaction in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres, Ministry of Foreign affairs of Uzbekistan reported.
Sides also talked about terms of contacts in various levels, next Uzbek-Finland political consultations, activation of activity of joint cooperation institutions, issues of expanding legal base.
Participants of the meeting expressed an interest in expanding the volume of mutual trades and its diversification, realization of prospective investment projects in such areas as electro-techniques, chemical, consumer goods industry, telecommunication and resource-saving.
At the meeting sides also emphasized mutual interest in developing direct contacts between certain educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Finland.
