Tashkent hosted festive soiree dedicated to the national holiday of India - 64th anniversary of Republic Day.
Representatives of government-bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, diplomatic missions and international organizations, creative and academic officials, as well as mass media took part at the event.
Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of India in Uzbekistan Sarma Anumula Gitesh took floor at the event and thoroughly told about achievements of India in social-political, economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres, Information Agency "Jahon" reported.
Highly appreciating level of bilateral relations between our countries, diplomat noted that Uzbekistan is not only strategic partner, but also one of the closest and reliable friends of India.
"Friendship relations between Uzbek and Indian nations go into deep time of period. As a cradle of ancient civilizations, Uzbekistan and India throughout of centuries maintained active relations, enriching and nourishing mutual interest in culture, art, philosophy, language and spiritual values of each other", - Indian Ambassador emphasized.
For the years of independence of Uzbekistan nations of our countries not only preserved dynamism in relations, but also could significantly expand the scales of cooperation by way of attaching multidimensional nature and new contents.
It was noted in the festive soiree, in line with 100 anniversary of Indian film in Tashkent it is planned to organize number of cultural events.
